This Roger Corma- produced Jurassic Park rip-off from 1995 may have been one of legendary critic Roger Ebert’s most hated flicks from that year in cinema, but he also trash-talked Silent Night Deadly Night and wrote Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, so feel free to cast doubt on that judgement.

The corny and admittedly pretty bonkers flick follows a secret military scientific experiment which intends to revive dinosaur DNA to cross-breed raptors and humans for some sort of super-soldier—if that plot sounds familiar, yes, Alligator scribe John Sayles did write a pretty similar treatment for an un-produced Jurassic Park 4 but no, his version did not feature an extended sequence of a mad scientist literally giving birth to this abomination onscreen.

Sounds fun, right? Dinosaurs versus soldiers vs civilians in a small desert town?

Sure—until our heroes finally neutralize the threat and the leading man is reunited with his love interest—only for them to be unceremoniously offed by a hail of gunfire from troops covering up the incident.

Thanks, Rog.
