The new Black Christmas remake was a deeply terrible film for many reasons, not least its stunningly stupid final reveal.

As it turns out, the murderous frat boys seeking to eliminate Riley (Imogen Poots) and her frat girl pals are actually...possessed by a Prometheus-like black goo which leaks out of a statue of the University's bigoted founder, Calvin Hawthorne. Yup.
The supernatural twist marks a major left-turn for a movie that, up to that point, was fairly "grounded" - relatively speaking, at least.

Yet rather than serve as a bold revelation, it was simply unbearably goofy and ensured the film completely collapsed in on itself.
