12 Great Moments In Mediocre Comic Book Movies

5. Trevor Slattery's Acting In Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 is a consistent pick for one of the worst movies the MCU has to offer. It certainly didn't live up to Iron Man by any standards, but at least it tried something different.

Of course, this didn't please everybody, resulting in its unquestioned title as the most divisive of the Infinity Saga, but it has earned itself some admirers at least. The make or break moment of the movie was the reveal that Trevor Slattery was never the real Mandarin, merely an actor paid to portray the character by Aldrrich Killian.

It's easy to see why this p*ssed a lot of fans off, but if you put that hatred to one side and just watch Sir Ben Kingsley work, it is a joy to behold. Before the reveal, when Kingsley is portraying the Mandarin, he is genuinely intimidating, which was necessary for the plot twist to work to its full effect.

After we discover who he really is however, Kingsley plays Slattery as a hilarious out of luck junkie actor, who really has no idea what he has got himself into. He seems so oblivious to his situation and what he has done wrong, you can't help but respect Kingsley's work and the pure acting range he demonstrates in one role.
