12 Hidden Horror Movie Gems Of The Last Decade

7. Jug Face

Based on the name alone you'd be forgiven for going into Jug Face with low expectations. It doesn't exactly scream compelling horror story, instead giving off the misconception of a lazy Leatherface rip off. The 2013 movie however, delivers a haunting look into a backwoods cult society that is more than worth 90 minutes of your time.

The premise of the movie is familiar, but with enough of a twist to make things interesting. A society bows down to a mysterious deity to whom they regularly make sacrifices. The identity of the unlucky subject is revealed in the form of their face on a clay jug. Hence the odd title.

After Ada, a young girl pregnant with her brother's child, finds the next jug has her own face on it, she hides it in a fit of panic. She is then faced with the consequences of her actions, and the wrath of the pit to which the village devote their faith, for depriving it of its sacrifice. For some it may be a bit too far fetched, but is perfect for those looking for a truly tense experience.
