Box Office: $542.7 million We can all appreciate the financial power of Disney at the box office: they can sell pretty much anything, and yet last year's live-action take on Cinderella fell far short of Deadpool's box office cume. The two movies couldn't be more polar opposites: one is aimed at the very youngest children and has a permissive PG rating, while Deadpool proved that big-budget adult movies aren't some obscure niche, but rather a massive market that needs filling. Cinderella was clearly hoping to replicate the stonking success of other live-action Disney movies such as Alice in Wonderland ($1.025 billion) and Maleficent ($758.5 million), but they didn't quite get there. The fact that Deadpool could very well overtake Maleficent in the coming weeks is only further proof that even the robust money-printing machine that is the Mouse House can get beaten by brutal violence, swearing like a sailor and a scene where our hero gets pegged by his girlfriend.
