Disney has been enjoying quite the creative resurgence in recent years, and that return to form largely kicked off with 2010's Tangled, Disney's first significant box office hit in many years following numerous commercial disappointments, such as The Princess and the Frog, Meet the Robinsons and Home on the Range.
Though it didn't quite become a Frozen-level phenomenon, Tangled nevertheless introduced an entire new generation of youngsters to the tale of Rapunzel, and no doubt served as quite the merchandise cash cow for the House of Mouse.
While Pennywise won't be getting his own line of cute action figures any time soon, he did impressively manage to beat out the hit animation, albeit just by a nose. A win is a win regardless, though.
