Ahead of directing the MCU Shang-Chi movie, director Destin Daniel Cretton's next project is definitely one that more people should be paying attention to.

Just Mercy reunites Cretton with frequent collaborator Brie Larson - as well as Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx, Tim Blake Nelson, Rafe Spall and O'Shea Jackson Jr - for the story of Walter McMillian, a black man wrongfully imprisoned for murder of a white woman. Foxx is McMillian and Jordan plays his attorney seeking to overturn his conviction.

Court dramas can be the perfect opportunity for lots of drama, but McMillian's story is particularly compelling thanks to its added injustice angle and how stunning some of the details of the real life case were.
