After years of rumours and development, the long-awaited Blade Runner sequel finally has a release date, arriving over Martin Luther King Day weekend 2018, or if you're not American, January 12th, 2018. The film will start shooting in July with Ryan Gosling starring and Harrison Ford reprising his iconic Deckard role in a supporting capacity. With shooting likely finishing up before the end of the summer, that'll give the movie an extensive amount of time for post-production, as director Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario) hopes to supplement the original's legacy rather than tarnish it.
