12 Movies You Constantly Have To Defend Loving

By Ian Watson /

1. Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation achieves a number of series firsts: it€™s the first movie whose plot doesn€™t revolve around 2 terminators sent through time, and the first where John Connor is played by an Oscar winner. But all anyone remembers is that it was also the first Terminator to €œunderperform€ at the box office. The reason for that is simple €“ after 2 €œmore of the same€ sequels, people who wanted to see the same movie for the fourth time were aghast at a film that darkened the tone, changed the setting and was rated PG-13. And the director was McG, the auteur behind 2 Charlie€™s Angels movies. Anyone who was sick of the formula, however, especially after the Lovecraftian horror that was Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, got a really cool action movie with Harvester Terminators, HK-Aerials and Moto-terminators. Kudos to McG for not taking the easy way out and making the €œGreatest Hits€ package that Terminator Genisys turned out to be.
