12 Perfect Castings For Upcoming MCU Movies

2. Mark Strong As Professor X

While the Fantastic Four have little to live up to in regards to expectations or casting coming from previous movies, the X-Men are very different. Charles Xavier has been portrayed by two separate actors in two very different ways, with both putting in simply exceptional performances helping to make Professor X one of the most popular characters in Fox's X-Universe.

Whoever follows Sir Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy will have some incredibly big shoes to fill, and there are not too many with the chops to do it. Mark Strong, however, has the ability to bring Professor X to life in a whole new way.

Though typically cast in villainous roles, the Green Lantern, Kick-Ass, and Shazam! actor has no shortage of comic book movie experience, automatically has the look down, and could easily act as a wise, gentle, yet intimidating leader of the mutants.

There has to be something different about Charles Xavier for the MCU, because an imitation of Patrick Stewart's iteration will never be as good as the original. Mark Strong's casting would be reminiscent of Alfred Pennyworth's recent younger, grittier versions.

If both he and Taron Egerton are cast in the next X-Men movie, the two could recreate the same student/mentor dynamic that helped to make Kingsman so compelling, and instantly make a deep connection between Charles and Logan.
