12 Recent Trailers That Massively Outshone Their Movies

12. SOLO: A Star Wars Story

It's an unpopular opinion, but the Han Solo spin-off isn't the worst film in the Star Wars canon.

The movie didn't have much hope to begin with, what with Star Wars fans rejecting a Han Solo origin story purely on narrative relevance and the fact it didn't feature Harrison Ford as the lead. Coupled with behind-the-scenes conflict between Disney and the Directors, the movie was just a ticking bomb at the box office.

Then the trailers came out. And what we were presented with was a swashbuckling caper with promises of a heist, a bit of romance and a heck of a lot of spaceships flying around. It looked like for a second, SOLO might be fun.

But the movie couldn't help itself. It was overloaded with Easter Eggs and pointless origins that resembled the first Wolverine origin film. Instead of being light and fun, the movie is sadly quite forgetful. While it is definitely one of the more fast-paced Star Wars films, it wasn't at all memorable.

The great score, snappy dialogue and enticing villain just seemed to be extinguished when the film came out. Here's hoping a few lessons were learnt about what movie-makers are trying to sell, verses what they actually delivered.
