12 Stars Wars Mysteries STILL Not Answered After Rise Of Skywalker
8. Who Was Anakin's Father?
Considering how obsessively the question of Rey's parentage was focused on - even after we were (erroneously) led to believe they weren't important - it's rather odd that the question of Anakin Skywalker's true parentage just sort of faded away.
There has been some suggestion that Anakin was created by a sentience in the Force tied to midi-Chlorians, which is helped by the testimony of his mother Shmee that "there was no father." But since when has testimony meant truth in Star Wars? Obi-Wan Kenobi lied all the time and there have been LOTS of other examples where information was dressed up to suit the progression of a journey. Like the claim that Rey's parentage didn't matter.
Even if there wasn't a traditional "father," you still have to wonder if there was a second creator in the Force that impregnated Shmee. Immaculate conception still requires some form of conception, after all. It just doesn't feel right that there's still no definitive answer on it.
