12 Things In Pixar Movies That Make No Sense
12. Coco - How Hector Learns The Truth About Ernesto Is Super Convenient
Coco tells the story of Miguel; an aspiring musician who dreams of being as famous as the legendary Ernesto de la Cruz. Because his family forbids music, Miguel runs away and tracks down Ernesto's guitar. When he strums the instrument, he is transported to the Land of the Dead, where he befriends a skeletal being called Hector. Since he worked with Ernesto, Miguel hopes Hector can help him locate him and convince his family that music shouldn't be banned.
We eventually learn that Hector was a musical genius but Ernesto poisoned him and stole his work. How do we find this out? While Hector, Ernesto, and Miguel are in the same room, a projector happens to be playing an old movie where Ernesto poisons a man The Exact Same Way he poisoned Hector. Just to be as unsubtle as possible, Ernesto said the same dialogue to Hector before he poisoned him as is said in the scene in the film. Why? Does he want to get caught?
Also, what are the chances that this specific scene was playing the exact same time the trio are in the same room? This isn't a plothole but it's one hell of a plot convenience.
