While unaware of the exact nature of the items, in the first Avengers film Loki actually had both the mind stone and the space stone in his possession – one in the Sceptre Loki wielded, and one in the Tesseract he stole from S.H.I.E.L.D.

The fact that Loki was totally unaware of both items true power does mean he didn’t use this fully to his advantage. But, on the Infinity Stone leaderboard, he’s pretty high up there, so the trickster god gets bragging rights at the very least.
