8. The Invisible Car Isn't THAT Bad

One of the most commonly-mocked elements of Die Another Day is the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, the (in)famous invisible car which Bond uses to get around while his enemies remain unaware.

It's often cited as a shining example of everything wrong with the movie's reliance on visual effects over a more grounded sense of ingenuity, but you know what? It's really not that bad.

Granted, it's easy to feel a little more relaxed about this aspect of the film more than 15 years after the fact, but it's actually one of the few effects-driven parts of the movie that's aged relatively well.

The car's a beauty when we can actually see it, which helps, but its absurd camera-based cloaking tech is good for a few goofy chuckles, even if it's not exactly the most cinematic Bond gadget.

There are enough things to complain about in this movie, but the damn car really is the least of them.
