3 From Hell is the third entry into Rob Zombie's franchise revolving around the murderous Firefly family, following 2003's House of 1000 Corpses and 2005's The Devil's Rejects.
Given that almost 15 years have passed since the release of the previous film, Zombie appears to have moved on elsewhere with his filmmaking career and the family seemingly died at the end of The Devil's Rejects, it's safe to say that just nobody actually expected a third (and apparently final) entry.
What We Know
Zombie quietly shot 3 From Hell last year, with Sheri Moon Zombie, Sid Haig, and Bill Moseley reprising their roles once again, though beyond that, plot details are scarce.
The director recently completed sound mixing on the film, suggesting that the threequel will probably find its way into cinemas or on VOD - the latter being far more likely - before the end of 2019.
Zombie's one of the most maddeningly inconsistent filmmakers working today, but given the cult fandom surrounding The Devil's Rejects, there will certainly be many gore-hounds eager to see how he rounds the trilogy off.
