Remember DreamWorks' 2013 hit animation The Croods? Despite starring Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone and Nicolas Cage and grossing a silly $587.2 million worldwide, the family comedy came and went without a peep.
But DreamWorks has been quietly pursuing a sequel ever since, and after being cancelled in 2016, the project was resurrected in late 2017 for a September 2020 release.
But is there really going to be an audience for this film some seven-and-a-half years removed from the release of the long-forgotten original? Even if you enjoyed The Croods, were you really pining for a sequel?
Could It Be Any Good?: It'll probably be totally forgettable, just like the first.
