Release Date: 2015 Snow White and the Huntsman was one of the genuine surprises of 2012 for me, a film that by all rights shouldn't have worked, but actually did. I think most of us expected a Twilight-ified version of Snow White due to the casting of Kristen Stewart, but this surprisingly dark take on the material succeeded thanks to a smart script, impressive direction from Rupert Sanders, and a hilariously over-the-top villain performance from Charlize Theron. But a sequel? Wasn't everything tied up neatly in the end? The evil Queen is vanquished and Snow White is crowned Queen: what room is there for part two? Still, the movie made over double its $170 million budget, so the dollar signs are there. However, with Sanders not returning due to his affair with Stewart, I'm left even more worried that this is a bad move.
