If you haven't sat through Amazing Spider-Man or its sequel relatively, it's easy to forget that Peter's birth parents were even in the film, such is their screen presence.

Embeth Davidtz, who gives a phoned-in performance as Mary Parker, is the worst offender of the two, but once again, the actress isn't entirely at fault.

Between limited screen time and a ridiculous James Bond-esque backstory, was there really much more Davidtz could have done with the part?
