11. Your Name Remake
The Pitch: An American remake of the hugely successful 2016 Japanese anime Your Name, with Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man) set to direct a script from Eric Heisserer (Arrival), while J.J. Abrams will produce.
Will It Be Any Good?: Tough to say, honestly, because though the premise - a romantic spin on the body-swap comedy - is killer, will a westernised live-action remake really be able to retain the animation's charm?
Perhaps somewhat sensibly, the remake is aiming to distance itself quite a bit from the original, focusing instead on a Native American woman who swaps bodies with a young man from Chicago. Even so, it'll require some incredible tonal finessing for Webb to pull it off.
Webb certainly has experience crafting complex romantic stories, but this will be a challenge far above anything else he's tackled before (yes, even the trainwreck that was The Amazing Spider-Man 2).
