13 Bonkers Theories About 2016’s Movies That Surely Can’t Be True

13. Diego Luna Is Biggs - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The Theory: Diego Luna's character, one of the rebel fighters in the movie, is in fact a younger version of mustachioed starfighter pilot Biggs Darklighter (Garrick Hagon), who was of course blown up by Darth Vader during A New Hope's climactic attack sequence. Why It Could Be True: This one's all about facial hair first and foremost: Biggs' iconic mustache and overall hairstyle is extremely similar to Luna's look in the movie. Plus, timeline-wise this one fits: Luna is almost the same age that Hagon was when he played Biggs, and as the film presumably leads pretty directly into A New Hope, it matches up. Why It Probably Won't Be: For one, it would be pretty strange that nobody mentioned Biggs' role in helping steal the plans in A New Hope, and then there's the fact that to some this might just seem a bit forced, a desperate attempt to connect this new tale with the original movies. It may simply want to exist as its own thing, even though rumours suggest it's already going to have a few cameos from the likes of R2-D2, C-3PO and even possibly Darth Vader and Leia.
