13 Cringe-Worthy Movie Moments That Completely Ruined Great Songs

6. I Don't Want To Miss A Thing (Aerosmith) - Armageddon

Here's an example of a great song that's put to bad use in a pretty terrible film (even if it was written for the film in the first place). We are, of course, talking about Aerosmith's smash hit I Don't Want to Miss a Thing, used as the anthem for Michael Bay's mega-hit Armageddon. Though the song is catchy and emotional, it's used in two extremely saccharine scenes in the movie: the first features Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler playing around with animal crackers, and the second is the movie's closing montage, in which the two get married while mourning the loss of the men who gave their lives to save the world. Perhaps if the movie were more narratively water-tight the song might've survived, but given that it isn't, the song is forever left to be associated with the cheese-fest that was Michael Bay's absurd blockbuster. Try picturing anything but Bruce Willis sacrificing himself when this song plays. It's impossible.
