We know he adores her, and she him; why has he got to be so angry at her just because of Chinese tradition? If you yourself have a rather strict father and have dealt with their disappointment before, you'll know that horrible hot feeling of shame that courses through your body when you switch from being child prodigy number one to the naughtiest most disobedient daughter ever. Oh Mulan; we'll never forget the way she hugged the pillar in the rain. If only we could go back in time, space, and alternate reality and do something to help.
