One of the most prominent questions in just about any Joss Whedon movie is: who is going to get killed off? He did a splendid job wringing pathos from Agent Coulson's (Clark Gregg) demise in the original Avengers (before Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. unceremoniously reversed it), and it's widely expected that another character will bite the bullet this time. Crucially, will it be a minor supporting character, or in fact one of the core line-up who gets taken down? The Likely Answer: It sure as hell won't be Cap, Iron Man or Hulk. Black Widow is a possibility but not terribly likely, while Quicksilver could be the one, even though someone like Maria Hill is a more prime candidate given that she's familiar and likeable, but ultimately doesn't really matter. Then there's Thor, the only character from the main Avengers line-up who can "die" but eventually return without a convoluted explanation. Given that Thor 3 has the title "Ragnarok", it would make a lot of sense that Thor dies in the final fight with Ultron, is sent to Hel and then has to return to Earth over the course of the next Thor film.
