Though this horror film based on the famous "creepypasta" meme is due for theatrical release in less than two months, recent reports have suggested that the movie's producers have started shopping the film around to other distributors after disagreeing with Screen Gems about how the movie is being marketed.

The producers have apparently met with Netflix among other parties, and with mounting controversy over the movie's "distasteful" nature - following the real-life Slender Man stabbing case - its box office prospects look to be drying up considerably.
Don't be surprised if the movie's theatrical release is pulled over the next few weeks and it's dumped direct to Netflix sometime over the summer, to the disappointment of just about nobody.
