3. Henry Cavill's "Moustache-Gate"

Movie controversies don't get much sillier than this. Reshoots for Justice League ended up coinciding with Henry Cavill's filming schedule for the upcoming Mission: Impossible 6, requiring him to move between projects and shoot them simultaneously.

As Cavill's MI:6 character requires a large mustache and Paramount refused to allow Cavill to shave it and wear a false one, it came out that Warner Bros. were being forced to digitally remove Cavill's 'stache in post-production.

"Stache-Gate", as it quickly became known, kicked up a not-insignificant fuss online, to the point that Cavill himself even made a tongue-in-cheek post in an attempt to deflate all the hot air billowing out of social media channels.
