13 Movie Tag-Lines That Blatantly Lied To You
13. The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift
Tag-line: “If You Ain't Outta Control, You Ain't In Control.”
This tag-line is so edgy that half of all moviegoers that read it felt immediately dizzy.
Grammatical nightmares aside, it's also a blatant lie.
The movie follows Sean Boswell as he goes from an out-of-control teen in Arizona and onto the mean streets of Tokyo, where he learns a whole new style of racing, the supposedly mystical 'drift'.
The problem is, the entire story is about Boswell learning a little more discipline and self-control, making the tag-line little more than outrageous nonsense.
Boswell is very much not in control, and it takes the death of a friend to calm him by the slightest of fractions.
Not only does it sound awful, but the tag-line here clearly wasn't thought through, but, as a wise man once said, “if your tag-line ain't outta control, it isn't in control.”
