Marketed as "based on real life" Wolf Creek is a tale of a successful low-key horror film, made for very little money that caught a lot of attention (to the tune of almost $30m) and inspired both an inferior sequel and a TV show.

Still, the first audiences clearly weren't particularly taken with it, earning it an F.

It was never going to win any Oscars, but it's good fun and successful at what it's attempting to do, which is pretty much all you can expect from this sort of horror. You just have to accept that it's going to be grim, violent and difficult to watch - any other expectations will definitely not form a good foundation.
