7. Luke's Head In The Helmet Is Great Foreshadowing
Luke remarks that Dagobah feels like a dream and hes right. There is a dream logic to the place (amplified again by Reynolds design, which is nightmarish), a haunting, otherworldly quality. It is a place for demons, for ghosts. This is best conveyed by the above shot, which occurs after Luke beheads an apparition of Darth Vader in the woods. As the head falls and rolls, a brilliant flash and pop reveals Lukes own expressionless face behind the mask to mark one of Star Wars great moments of woebegone foreshadowing (and trust me, there are some serious contenders).
