It's totally possible that Batman will be outdone by his most iconic rival as Suicide Squad arrives this August. What's been shown off so far looks nothing short of demented, and though it has a steep hill to climb in terms of introducing a ton of new characters, it seems clear that a charm offensive from Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Will Smith as The Joker, Harley Quinn and Deadshot respectively will be leading the charge. There's every chance that the film will be too chaotic and quirky for its own good, or struggle to strike a consistent tone...but most of these fears can be applied at least equally to BvS. Plus, with Suicide Squad being a more niche comic and featuring characters less precious to most viewers, it's far less likely to catch flak for any perceived "inaccuracies". Ideally it'll serve as a compliment to DC's big gamble, though don't be surprised if it pulls out in front, especially as Batman himself will make a cameo, setting up more potential shenanigans between the new Joker and Batfleck in the future.
