8. Steve Trevor Is Definitely Dead - Wonder Woman 1984

Warner Bros.

Though the marketing for Wonder Woman 1984 is trying to persuade fans that Chris Pine's Steve Trevor is (somehow) alive and well some 65-ish years after he appeared to perish in a plane explosion, it's clear to anyone paying attention that he's 100% dead meat.

There are several easy explanations for Pine's presence: either this is a surreal dream sequence where general logic doesn't apply (allowing Steve to wear new period attire), or more likely, this is Steve Trevor's grandson.

After all, if we assume that Trevor had a secret kid shortly before he died, the timing works out perfectly that Trevor's son could have his own 40-year-old son by 1984.

As much as Warner Bros. is trying to steer fans in the direction of Trevor being miraculously resurrected with a ret-conned escape from the plane or some sort of hooey sci-fi reasoning, he's absolutely, positively toast.
