13 Upcoming Movies That Could Score 0% On Rotten Tomatoes

3. The Boy Next Door

The Pitch: Following her divorce, Claire Peterson (Jennifer Lopez) meets her cute teenage neighbour Noah Sandborn (Ryan Guzman), and the two start a torrid affair. However, with the mysterious prior death of Noah's parents, it seems like there may be something more sinister lurking beneath the surface. Why It Could Score 0%: For starters, the premise sounds somewhat like a lame, romantic version of Adam Wingard's The Guest (the family even has the same name, Peterson). Then there's the clear fact that Guzman is supposed to be a teenager but is quite obviously in his late twenties. This is without even looking at the career of Rob Cohen, who almost seems to actively be trying to score a 0%. His biggest flops include Alex Cross (12%), The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (13%), Stealth (13%), The Skulls (9%) and Daylight (21%). In addition, Lopez herself hasn't starred in a critically acclaimed live-action movie since 1998's Out of Sight. Jeez. With an absurd premise yet seemingly self-serious delivery, expect critics to form an orderly line to start beating this one to a pulp. Release Date: January 23rd, 2015 (US), March 13th, 2015 (UK)
