The Buzz: Fresh off the success of last year's terrific neo-western Hell or High Water, director David McKenzie will write and helm this period drama about legendary Scottish warrior Robert the Bruce, who will be played by Chris Pine.

McKenzie will also re-team with Ben Foster, who will play Scottish knight James Douglas, in what's said to be a more accurate, even-handed portrayal of Robert the Bruce than the liberty-taking depiction in Mel Gibson's Best Picture-winning Braveheart. William Wallace will also appear, but no word on his casting yet.

Shooting starts in August, and the release can't come soon enough.
