The Plot: A woman (Rachel Weisz) returns to the insular Jewish community which exiled her for her attraction to a childhood friend (Rachel McAdams), but as the two women are reunited, so too are their urges reignited.

Why It's Going To Be Awesome: Releasing the very same day as Avengers: Infinity War in the U.S. is a bold strategy for any movie, but this drama from acclaimed director Sebastián Lelio (A Fantastic Woman) looks set to offer up some more thought-provoking thrills while Thanos is busy ripping the Avengers apart.

While in lesser hands this could easily be a trashy, salacious B-movie, reviews from its TIFF premiere have praised the performances of Weisz and McAdams, Lelio's direction and his character-driven approach to exploring notions of faith and sexuality, shot through a feminist lens of course.
