10. Cameron Diaz Shags A Car - The Counselor
The Scene: The Counselor (Michael Fassbender) meets up with his client Reiner (Javier Bardem), who regales him with an insane story about his girlfriend Malkina (Cameron Diaz).
One night, they drove to a golf course, where Malkina removed her underwear and mounted the windshield of his car, rubbing herself to climax against it.
Reiner compares the experience to watching a bottom-feeding fish clinging to the side of an aquarium, and hilariously concludes that it was "too gynaecological to be sexy", to the Counselor's stunned amusement.
Why It's Out Of Place: Though it's probably the funniest and most memorable scene in the entire film, it comes completely out of nowhere and leaves the audience blind-sided.
Ridley Scott's divisive drama may be full of wordy monologues, but not another one felt quite this tangential and absurd. It's a silly aside in a movie that's otherwise a gritty, philosophical meditation on violence and destiny, and sticks out like a sore thumb.
