14. Thanos Destroys Thor's Ship - Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok's mid-credits scene shows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) piloting a ship back to Earth when he's intercepted by a far larger spaceship, which Marvel Studio's Kevin Feige has since confirmed to belong to Thanos (Josh Brolin).

This is especially interesting considering that Avengers: Infinity War will reportedly feature a scene in which Thor is left flying through space and eventually lands on the windshield of the Guardians of the Galaxy's ship, the Milano.

It's not difficult to put two and two together here: Thor's ship is going to get blasted to hell by Thanos, and though it remains to be seen what will happen to Loki and co., clearly this is the catalyst for Thor hanging out with the Guardians in Infinity War.
