8. Galactus (Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer)

You don't get much bigger in villainous terms than a literal planet eating giant capable of wiping entire races out of existence in a couple of chomps and boasting the powers of a literal God.
In the comics, Galactus is a giant humanoid in what you'd call traditional superhero garb who is almost instantly recognisable, and who has been a frequent scourge of several of Marvel's biggest, most powerful superhero teams.
On Film
Why anyone thought having the giant, purple-clad celestial figure on screen would have been any worse than reimagining Galactus as a great big nasty cloud that eats worlds. It turns what could have been a charismatic figure into a faceless, personality-less concept, who appears on-screen for precious little time and is defeated without ever leaving a dent on the audience.
And in the long-run, he's not even all that powerful, given that eating part of Earth seems to have absolutely zero lasting effect on the rest of the planet.
Sure, the intention was to include Galactus as the star of the mooted Silver Surfer spin-off in his traditional design, but quite why anyone would have committed to watching that after he'd been so fundamentally messed with in his introduction is anyone's guess. In the end, it just looked like Fox didn't really know how to present him, which begs the question of why they even bothered trying.
