TED has become incredibly popular as of late. TED began in 1984 as a conference designed to stimulate "ideas worth spreading." TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design and has since grown into multiple conferences and events around the world - including TEDGlobal and TEDx. Many of the talks from the conference, which tend to be short and provocative on a variety of topics, are archived on the organization's site. They currently host about 1,500 videos on a variety of topics.
