14 Upcoming Movie Remakes That Might Not Actually Suck
3. Disorder
Don't feel bad if you didn't see this French-Belgian 2015 thriller about a PTSD-afflicted soldier (Matthias Schoenaerts) tasked with protecting a wealthy businessman's wife (Diane Kruger) and son.
While well-reviewed, Disorder did virtually no business at the box office, but this didn't stop Hollywood from snapping up the rights in the hope of adapting it into a more commercial effort.
With the ultra-talented Taylor Sheridan (Sicario, Hell or High Water) set to write the script while James Mangold (Logan) directs, it's fair to say that this one will inevitably be more successful, and possibly even better, than the low-fi original.
There are plenty of times to validly decry Hollywood for buying up brilliant foreign movies and butchering them, but with a creative voice as distinct as Sheridan's, there's a lot to be excited about.
