The Role: Comic book character Nuidis Vulko, who serves as Arthur Curry's (Jason Momoa) mentor on Atlantis.

Considering that the first trailer featured only a single, blurry glimpse of Vulko, it's probably best to anticipate nothing more than an "extended cameo" from three-time Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe.

There's no question he'll bring his usual, effortless gravitas to the role, but given that the superhero origin story clearly has to juggle a huge roster of characters, if he gets more than a few minutes of screen time it'd be pretty shocking.

Plus, let's face it, Vulko's probably going to end up killed by King Orm (Patrick Wilson) at the end of the second act anyway. It's classic Obi-Wan syndrome.
