8. The Child Character ISN'T Annoying!? - The Meg
Child characters have a high tendency for high annoyance in movies, especially big-budget blockbusters, so what a surprise it was that the kid character in The Meg of all movies wasn't just not-annoying, she was actually genuinely charming and likeable.
Young Meiying (Shuya Sophia Cai) plays the daughter of Li Bingbing's Suyin Zhang, and in addition to being cute as hell, she actually has numerous hilarious scenes opposite Jason Statham's hero Jonas Taylor.
Rather than spend most of the movie screaming, spouting awful dialogue, crying or being helpless, she actually brings some charisma to the table, and avoids feeling like an arbitrary addition to make the movie more appealing to Chinese audiences.
If The Meg 2 ever does happen, she absolutely needs to come back.
