3. Jensen Ackles - Hawkeye
Supernatural star Jensen Ackles was reportedly offered the role of Hawkeye before it went to Jeremy Renner, but was forced to pass on it due to the arduous Supernatural shooting schedule, which Marvel were unable to accommodate.
Would It Have Worked?: Ackles has a huge fanbase for a reason: he's handsome, charming and bada**, and while he's not as decorated an actor as many of the MCU's stars, Hawkeye is one of the less-complex characters on the roster, so Ackles would've done just fine with him.
But it seems that short of walking off the Supernatural set, there was no way it was ever going to work, and considering the seemingly unstoppable gravy train that is The CW's fantasy horror show (which has been renewed for a 13th season), it's doubtful he regrets his decision.
