Monumentally stupid, indifferently acted and yet again overly reliant on nostalgia, Fallen Kingdom also might be the best-directed cinematic turd of 2018.

Director J.A. Bayona (The Impossible, A Monster Calls) is an artist who deserves better than this, but the guy's a pro, and he makes this film about as visually gorgeous as any filmmaker could dare to.

Combined with an outrageously misguided script from Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow, it adds up to a baffling, can't-look-away dumpster fire of a sequel.
