Jordan Peele's horror comedy has enjoyed insanely strong reviews, touting an impressive 99% on Rotten Tomatoes (with the single negative review appearing from infamous troll Armond White) while also landing first place at the U.S. box office.

While there are definitely arguments against the film scoring a Best Picture nomination next January, namely that horror rarely does well here and it came out before this year's Oscar ceremony even took place, the movie's clear staying power with audiences and critics alike could carry it to a passion-driven nomination.

It hasn't got a hope in Hell of winning, of course, but the prospect of it making the cut and maybe even landing a Best Original Screenplay nod also is extremely exciting. Stranger things have happened.
