Previous Movies: 2010's Grown Ups was pretty much just an excuse for Adam Sandler and his buddies to have a vacation and get paid for it, but despite overwhelmingly negative reviews, the film scored $271 million at the box office. With the same, bloated $80 million budget, the 2013 sequel grossed $247 million, while netting 8 Razzie nominations and even worse reviews than the original. If nothing else, it was a pretty consistent financial win for Columbia Pictures. The Sequel: David Spade has stated that Grown Ups 3 may happen, and despite the critical revulsion at both films, their easy box office success would make that an easy commercial calculation. Why It Should Never Happen: Because there's just nowhere for the improbable "franchise" to go, except perhaps scouting for an even lower Rotten Tomatoes score.
