7. Star-Lord Vs. Ronan - Guardians Of The Galaxy

The Showdown: Ronan (Lee Pace) plans to use the Orb to destroy Xandar, at which point Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) shows up to take him on.

The Anti-Climax: There's no fisticuffs to speak of here, but instead, Star-Lord sings The Five Fairsteps' "Ooh Child" in order to distract Ronan while Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Drax (Dave Bautista) fire a rocket at Ronan's hammer, shattering it.

At this point, Star-Lord dives to grab the Orb, and in sharing the power between himself and the other Guardians, is able to harness it to destroy Ronan.

It is admittedly a rather entertaining riposte to the increasingly overblown finales of Marvel's movies, and defeating the enemy with a dance battle of all things is nothing if not fiercely original. Bravo.
