The Moment: Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is attacked a by a protective mother grizzly bear, who violently mauls Glass and sets in motion the movie's events. Why It's Controversial: Because shortly before the movie's release, tabloids began to report on rumours that DiCaprio's character is "raped" by the bear in the movie. Yes, there's a brief shot where the bear assumes a familiar position that's going to get screen-grabbed the second the movie is out on Blu-ray, but there is zero sexual contact between man and beast in the movie. Still, that didn't stop the rumour spreading like wildfire, to the point that DiCaprio himself even had to comment on the absurdity of such a claim.
