11. The Train Heist - Solo: A Star Wars Story
Undoubtedly the most memorable sequence in Solo was the Conveyex train heist, where Han (Alden Ehrenreich) and Chewie (Joonas Suotamo) teamed up with rogue Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson) to liberate said train of its precious supply of the hyperfuel coaxium.
Ron Howard's sturdy direction and sharp visual effects makes the most of both the vertiginous heights and the unique design of the train itself, even if there's never any fear for Han or Chewie's lives, obviously.
The highlights include Enfys Nest (Erin Kellyman) and her Cloud Riders showing up to crash the party, poor Rio (Jon Favreau) being critically wounded and Val (Thandie Newton) sacrificing herself to complete the heist.
Tragically it's all for nothing, though, as Han ends up ditching the coaxium payload to ensure their escape from Nest and her gang. If much of Solo feels merely adequate, this dizzying set-piece was by far the most impressionable sequence.
