15. Sonic The Hedgehog - February 14

The Sonic movie might not be particularly good, but no critics have seen it as of time of writing, so it's unclear if the film has a chance of being worthwhile.

Certainly the odds aren't in its favour, the substantial delays due to the backlash surrounding the original design have won over die-hard fans, but they aren't likely to go out of their way if the film is perceived as lacklustre. While there's always the possibility of the Sonic film becoming another Dolittle (something that won't be on this list) the upsides are higher, as recent trailers have shown glimpses of the Sonic that generations have grown up loving.

The film is a hybrid of live action and computer animation, an approach that hasn't always been successful in the past but has potential this time due to the presence of James Marsden and the beloved Jim Carrey. Both men are extremely talented actors who look to be taking the project legitimately seriously, which can only be a good sign. The latest trailer had some great comedic moments too, and the voice acting from Ben Schwartz already nails the balance of cuteness and arrogance that defines the character.

While we truly have no idea if this will be forgotten in a month, act as a pleasant surprise for all the family, or end up a trainwreck on disproportionate levels, it's certainly going to be an interesting film to sit down during opening weekend.

At the very least, if you're taking children to see it in theatres this February, then it should be a guarantee that they enjoy themselves and that's the important thing.
