12. Victor Von Doom – Fantastic 4, Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer, Fant4stic

A frequent contender on ‘Best Comic Book Villains Ever’ lists compiled the world over, Victor Von Doom is the most formidable foe in Fantastic Four canon if not the entire Marvel Comic universe. A self-made man whose powers are largely a product of his own genius (plus the odd bit of dabbling in demonic magic), he’s truly a force to be reckoned with.

But as any discerning comic book fan can tell you, the Fantastic Four don’t exactly have the best track record in making the transition from page to silver screen and Victor Von Doom didn’t fare so well either.

In 2005’s Fantastic Four and again in 2007’s Rise of the Silver Surfer, we got a rather underwhelming performance from Julian McMahon who fell far flat of doing the comic book Von Doom justice in all his evil glory. But where McMahon failed to get the character right, Toby Kebbell utterly floundered in the legendary flop that was 2015’s Fant4stic.

Of course, there’s always the chance that Victor Von Doom could be done justice in yet another Fantastic Four reboot but given how lacklustre every film has been to date here’s hoping nobody bothers.
